Kraft paper is strong and relatively course. It is not recommended for use where abrasion on surfaces is likely to occur. It is mostly recognized in the forms of grocery bags, envelopes and multiwall sacks. Wrapping your package in Kraft paper will add extra protection against damp weather and the outside elements.
Newsprint is a low-cost paper that doesn't have the courseness of Kraft paper. Because it is thinner, it doesn't offer as much protection against the elements, but it does provide a resonable amount of cushioning in packaging for books, literature and fairly lightweight products.
Poly-coated Kraft paper is designed to repel moisture. It has a thin layer of polyethylene on one or both sides. Primarily known as butcher paper, poly-coated paper has found a niche in the metal industry. When additives, such as VCI and/or filament fibers, are added to the paper, it becomes a more versatile product, where the uses are endless.
Typically referred to as reinforced poly-coated Kraft paper, this product is designed to withstand the outside elements.
The poly coating provides a moisture barrier while the filament fiber provides strength from tearing.
Product is usually wrapped around a customer's item to provide a moisture, grease, or dirt barrier.
Masking Paper is a product used for the painting, spraying and surface protection industries industry.
It is designed for the protection of surfaces and as a barrier for the painting industry.
